eilean records: We’re glad to introduce our next release which will open the new and last year for eilean rec., with Banabila + Machinefabriek who come back with “Entropia,” their fifth collaboration together.
One of the many reasons that we’ve been longtime fans of Eilean Records and to that extent, Mathias Van Eecloo and Rémi Verdier’s work and exquisite vision for the label is the conceptual center behind Eilean:
The label is based on a map with 100 points. Each point is associated to a number. Each number to a release. Each release will fill an area on the map around one point, giving it colors, relief & details. The final map project is completed by some soil samples from music artists, from where they live, collected by eilean rec. at home in some glass jars. Machinefabriek is the alias of Rutger Zuydervelt. His music combines elements of ambient, noise, minimalism, drone, field recordings and electro-acoustic experiments. He issued albums on various renowned labels such as Staalplaat, 12k, Important, Glistening Examples, SOFA music and Miasmah.
Besides making albums and performing live, Rutger also composes music for films and dance performances.
Michel Banabila is a sound artist & composer and has produced music for films, documentaries, theatre plays and dance. His work varies from minimal loop-based electronica, fourth world, and neoclassical pieces, to drones, experimental electronica, tribal ambient, and tape music. His work has been released internationally by labels like Bureau B (DE) and Séance Centre (CA).
